Description

The first quarter moon (67% illuminated) on the night of April 10, 2022 (00:45 UTC on 4/11).  Imaged using my C8 configured for galaxy season this spring.  The half illuminated crater Copernicus is a highlight along the terminator.

Imaged with Celestron 8" SCT at F6.3 (1280 mm focal length) using a Celestron focal reducer/field flattener, Baader IR685 nm pass filter, and ZWO ASI174mm.

Image capture using Firecapture. Stacking in AutoStakkert3 (best 10% of 2000 frames). Panorama generated from 3 sub images using Microsoft Image Explorer.  Processed in Registax (initial wavelet sharpening, histogram stretch) and PixInsight (additional contrast enhancement using local histogram transformations, kernel size = 64 and 400).
